Veuve Reserve Team Tackles Litter for a Cleaner Habitat

As part of the global Clean Up the World campaign, staff from the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA), including an Assistant Park Officer, Park Ranger, and one representative from the Department of Environment, carried out a targeted litter collection along the Veuve Reserve. The team successfully removed six gunny bags of waste from the site, reinforcing SPGA’s commitment to maintaining the ecological integrity of Seychelles’ protected areas.

Clean-up in the Veuve Reserve

Veuve Reserve, home to the iconic Seychelles Paradise Flycatcher, borders a public road and is especially vulnerable to roadside litter. SPGA urges all road users and community members to dispose of waste responsibly and refrain from throwing rubbish into the reserve. Every piece of litter removed is a step toward safeguarding biodiversity and ensuring that these natural spaces remain clean, safe, and thriving for generations to come. This initiative reflects SPGA’s ongoing dedication to conservation through habitat protection, and public awareness. Together, we can protect what we love.
