This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) forms a collaborative agreement between the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority(SPGA) and Plant Conservation Action Group (PCA) for the management of the Tea Tavern Nature Trail and restoration area for community use. It aims to form the basis of a solid working relationship to protect the value of the site to visitors whilst still accounting for the natural conservation value of the site. The trail will allow volunteers / visitors to learn more about native species and restoration providing them with a safer and more rewarding experience. In turn, this further benefits Seychelles with improved ecosystem services through effective management and the conservation of endangered and restored native habitat and its communities.

Main Objectives of the MOU is to foster a positive relationship and partnership between SPGA and PCA for the co-management of the site, provide a platform to facilitate effective maintenance of the existing trail and eco-tourism infrastructure on the restoration site, and facilitate partnerships and volunteerism to enhance the development, operation, and co-maintenance of the Tea Tavern Nature Trail and restoration area. This initiative has been supported by the U.S Embassy with a $5000 grant through the Regional Environment Science Technology and Health Officer to PCA.
