Marine Ecosystems Monitoring Exchange Workshop Launched
On Tuesday 12th May, SPGA, through the Deputy CEO, Ms. Lya Docteur, launched the Marine Ecosystems Monitoring Exchange Workshop, which will run for four days, until Friday 15th May.
The workshop is being conducted and facilitated by M. Enas Mohamed Riyaz, a conservation biologist working as a Biodiversity Conservation Coordinator at the Environmental Research & Conservation section of the Environmental Regulatory Authority (ERA) Maldives.
The workshop which represents the good collaborations between SPGA and ERA will cover strategic monitoring methodologies, sessions on sea turtle genetics , coral reef and seagrass monitoring, and will also feature a field day in the Ste. Anne Marine Park. The programme was designed to allow knowledge exchange, collaboration, and strengthening our collective capacity to protect marine ecosystems.
Attending the workshop are SPGA research and park officers, with participants from our valued partners; ICS, MCSS, and SIF also benefiting from this important training.
This initiative embodies knowledge exchange, collaboration, and a shared commitment to safeguarding our marine ecosystems.
