SPGA Strengthens Global Conservation Ties at Maldives Protected & Conserved Areas Forum

SPGA proudly took part in the second edition of the Maldives Protected & Conserved Areas Forum (MPCAF), a global platform where conservation leaders gather to share knowledge and strengthen collaborations. Representing SPGA at this important event were CEO Mr. Allen Cedras and Park Officer Mr. Damien Mougal, who contributed to discussions that highlight Seychelles’ commitment to advancing marine and terrestrial conservation.

Mr. Cedras joined a panel of marine protected area experts, addressing the themes “Global Experiences for National Adaptation” and “Partnerships & Financing for a Resilient Blue Economy.” His interventions emphasized the importance of regional collaboration and strategic partnerships in building resilience and ensuring effective management of marine protected areas.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mougal showcased SPGA’s achievements in digital innovation, presenting how technology is driving smarter, more efficient conservation practices. His contribution demonstrated how SPGA is leveraging digital tools to enhance monitoring, management, and community engagement across its protected areas.

The MPCAF serves as a vital forum for protected area managers, policymakers, and practitioners to exchange knowledge and best practices in conservation leadership.
