SPGA Hosts EarthRanger Training for Key Partners
SPGA in collaboration with the Programme Development & Coordination Section through the GOS-GEF UNDP Blue Economy Project, facilitated a 1-day training on the implementation and effectiveness of the EarthRanger platform.
Conducted by Park Officer Demien Mougal and Assistant Park Officer Shazelle Julie, the participants from the Biodiversity Conservation and Management Division and the Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment, as well as representatives from ICS Seychelles were provided an overview of the platform, covering topics such as patrols log-ins, reporting, monitoring and operations management which is facilitated by the software.
The training concluded with a visit to the SPGA EarthRanger Operations Centre based at Perseverance where participants were able to see first-hand the live demonstration and use of the platform by SPGA personnel.
