EarthRanger Training Focuses on Enhanced National Security and Environmental Management

The Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA) conducted a specialized training workshop on the EarthRanger software platform on Wednesday, 2nd April, at the SPGA Marine Operations Base in Perseverance. The session, aimed to equip key stakeholders with advanced tools for optimizing data-driven decision-making in marine security and emergency response operations. 

In partnership with 51 Degrees Ltd, a Kenya-based technology leader specializing in conservation and security solutions, the training guided participants through the functionalities of EarthRanger—a state-of-the-art platform designed to revolutionize data management and reporting. Attendees included representatives from the Seychelles Coast Guard, Marine Police, Disaster Risk Management Division (DRMD), Seychelles Maritime Safety Authority (SMSA), and Seychelles Ports Authority, fostering cross-departmental collaboration.

The workshop focused on validating and refining EarthRanger reporting protocols, demonstrating how the platform informs strategic management decisions, hands-on simulations of the software’s capabilities, particularly in security operations and crisis response scenarios. Participants gained practical insights into leveraging EarthRanger’s analytical tools to improve operational efficiency, resource allocation, and interagency communication.
