Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC Visits Botanical Garden

On Thursday, October 24th, SPGA had the distinct honor of welcoming H.E. Mr. MU Hong, the Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and Head of the China-Africa Friendship Group of the National Committee of the CPPCC of the People’s Republic of China, to the National Botanical Garden.

Accompanying him was a delegation of 14 esteemed members. Our knowledgeable guide, Ms. Marie-Rosaline, led an engaging tour of the Garden, showcasing its remarkable attractions, including the endemic Coco-de-Mer and the majestic Giant Aldabra Tortoises.

The CPPCC serves as a vital political advisory body in the People’s Republic of China, where its members contribute valuable insights and propose solutions to various political and social issues for consideration by government entities.

Present for the visit was the SPGA Deputy Chief Executive, Ms. Lya Docteur, Principal Secretary for Environment, Mr. Denis Matatiken, Charge d'affairs from the Chinese Embassy in Seychelles, Mr. Ju Jianfeng and Botanical Garden Manager, Mr. Eric Sophola.
